India Clinches ICC Champions Trophy 2025 with Thrilling Victory Over New Zealand: In a gripping finale at the Dubai International Stadium, India emerged victorious in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, defeating New Zealand by  4 wickets.

This win marks a significant milestone for India, ending a 12-year wait for an ODI title and restoring their glory in international cricket.

It is pertinent to mention that Rohit Sharma continued his streak of losing the toss and as a result New Zealand opted to bat first but but it’s decision might not have shown the impact on scorecard as India restricted Kiwis on 251. 

While Rachin Ravindra kicked off New Zealand innings with the bang, India made a huge comeback as it dismissed Will Young, Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson for a very few runs. 

Had Daryl Mitchell (63) and Michael Bracewell (53*) didn’t stood tall in front of the lethal bowling attack of Indian team, New Zealand would have been bowled out at a small score. 

While chasing, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and opener Shubman Gill kicked off the innings like a skyrocket until Shubman (31) was caught by the flying Glen Phillips and then a huge setback in the form of Virat Kohli (1) who failed to perform big on big occasion. 

Later, Rohit Sharma, was playing ferociously was stumped on the spin of Rachi Ravindra and got dismissed at 76. But then came Shreyas Iyer who took charge and led the team to the victory. Of course a calculative and clinical innings by Axar Patel cannot be ignored who built a much needed partnership with Shreyas Iyer to put India in strong side. 

Later, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul finished the game in style and led India to lift the Champions trophy after 2013.
