Australian PM Anthony Albanese & PM Modi Arrived to Watch Match

AHMEDABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese arrived at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on  Thursday (March 9) morning before the start of the fourth and final cricket Test match between India and Australia. They both did a 'lap of honour' of the stadium in carts. PM Modi and Albanese handed over th Test caps to their country's team captains Rohit Sharma and Steve Smith respectively.

PM Modi and Albanese were greeted with applause by thousands of cricket fans who reached the world's largest cricket stadium to watch the test match. Both the Prime Ministers met players of teams and stood with the players when the national anthems of India and Australia were played. Both the leaders also visited the 'Hall of Fame Museum' at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Australian PM Albanese reached Ahmedabad on Wednesday (March 8) morning. He had participated in some programs organized in the city. With this, PM Modi also reached Ahmedabad late on Wednesday night. Notably, India is leading 2-1 in the four-Test series. Australia captain Steve Smith won the toss and elected to bat here on Thursday.
