Bandipora girl Sabkat Malik Selected to play in International Ju-Jitsu Championship

BANDIPORA: A girl named Sabkat Malik, from a remote Vijjhara area, Bandipora district has brought medals to Jammu and Kashmir. Now, She has been selected to play in International Ju-Jitsu Championship. 

While Interacting with Media Persons, Sabkat Malik said, "I was interested in martial arts since her childhood but i faced many challenges in order to achieve my dream. I came to know about Ju-Jitsu in locality around 11 years ago and started learning it with an aim to become a champion in Ju-Jitsu. Choosing a male dominated game at an early age and then practicing with negligible infrastructure wasn't an easy thing."

She said, "However, I remained determined and worked very hard to leap the ladder of success starting from district, followed by State, National and now International. Playing at international level and to become a champion in Ju-Jitsu martial arts is aim of my life."

Sabkat added that she has been practicing continuously to achieve her goal of representing India in Ju-Jitsu International Federation's World Championship scheduled in Mongolia this year. Her family members have also said that they feel very happy to learn about her selection.

While expressing happiness over her selection, the Coach of Sabkat, Muzaffar Ahmad said, "She is very much talented and will definitely prove her mettle whenever she will get opportunity. I am very happy that her determination and hard work has paid off and has inspired other girls to take part in martial arts."
