Pakistani Batter Hailder Ali Arrested On Rape Allegations in Manchester Latest News: A 24-year-old Pakistani batter, Hailder Ali, was arrested by Greater Manchester Police on allegations of rape, leading to his provisional suspension, the Hindustan Times reported.
Hailder Ali was part of the Pakistan Shaheens, who were on tour in England, which began on July 22.
According to police, a report of a rape was made to police on Monday, 4 August 2025, twelve days after the alleged incident, which allegedly occurred on Wednesday, 23 July 2025, at a premises in Manchester.
Manchester police have confirmed that the accused has been arrested. “He has since been bailed pending further enquiries,” the police said in a statement.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has provisionally suspended the cricketer and has ensured that the player has received appropriate legal support.
“In line with its duty of care and responsibility to ensure the welfare and legal rights of all its players, the PCB has ensured that Haider Ali has received appropriate legal support to protect his rights throughout this process,” the PCB said in a statement.
“The PCB fully respects the legal procedures and processes of the United Kingdom and acknowledges the importance of allowing the investigation to run its due course. Accordingly, the PCB has decided to place Haider Ali under provisional suspension, effective immediately, pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.”
Hailder Ali has played two one-day internationals and 35 T20Is for Pakistan. He made his international debut in 2020.
