HANGZHOU: In a stunning display of squash prowess, the Indian mixed doubles squash team, comprising Deepika Pallikal and Harinderpal Singh Sandhu, secured the gold medal at the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou. The Indian duo showcased exceptional skill and determination as they emerged victorious against their Malaysian counterparts, Ajman Binti and Syafiq Bin Muhammad, in a thrilling match.

The closely contested match witnessed a fierce battle on the court, lasting for over half an hour. The Indian pair triumphed in the first game with a score of 11-10. In the subsequent game, Deepika and Harinder took an initial lead of six points. However, the Malaysian pair made an impressive comeback, narrowing the gap and eventually leveling the score to 10-10.

Amidst the intense competition, the Indian team displayed remarkable resilience and determination, scoring two crucial points in succession, clinching the gold medal with a final score of 12-10. This victory marks India's 20th gold medal in the ongoing edition of the Asian Games, further solidifying their position in the competition. Notably, With a total of 83 medals, including 20 golds, India currently stands fourth in the overall medal tally.
