Cricket World Cup 2023 Latest News: Amidst ongoing Cricket World Cup 2023, a claim in the name of Indian industrialist Ratan Tata is going viral on social media. As per the claim, after the ICC imposed a fine on Afghanistan cricketer Rashid Khan, the industrialist announced to help the cricketer financially and said that he would also pay Rashid Khan's fine.

X Account Jagdish Sista shared the viral claim and wrote, "Ratan Tata has once again shown his greatness. Rashid Khan, Afghanistan spinner, after defeating NaPak, took the Indian flag and ran around the ground on victory lap and shouted Bharat Mata ki Jai. NaPak complained to ICC about his action. ICC and all other world sports."

 

 

Spokesman in it's investigation found the viral claim to be fake. Industrialist Ratan Tata himself has refuted the viral claim by giving a clarification.

If Ratan Tata had made such an effort towards a cricketer, he would have grabbed the headlines, but we did not get any news confirming the viral claim. However, we found several reports contradicting the viral claim.

Ratan Tata denied the viral claim through his X account and wrote, "I have made no suggestions to the ICC or any cricket faculty about any cricket member regarding a fine or reward to any players.I have no connection to cricket whatsoever. Please do not believe WhatsApp forwards and videos of such nature unless they come from my official platforms."
