ZURICH: India's World Champion Javelin Thrower, Neeraj Chopra, demonstrated his exceptional skills once again at the prestigious Zurich Diamond League competition. Although he narrowly missed the top spot, Chopra secured an impressive second-place finish with a remarkable throw of 85.71 meters in the final round.

The 25-year-old Olympic gold medalist delivered an outstanding performance, launching three throws measuring 80.79 meters, 85.22 meters, and the remarkable 85.71 meters. Unfortunately, his other three attempts ended in fouls. Despite the stiff competition from some of the world's finest athletes, Neeraj Chopra's extraordinary effort earned him the well-deserved second position. He was only edged out by Czech Republic's Jakub Walesa, who registered an impressive 85.86 meters, securing the top spot. Notably, Walesa is no stranger to success, having previously won a bronze medal at the world championship.

Speaking after the competition on Thursday, Neeraj Chopra shared insights into his performance and state of mind. He affirmed that he was in excellent physical condition but admitted to feeling fatigued following the World Championships in Budapest. In a pragmatic approach to the ups and downs of athletics, Chopra emphasized his primary focus, saying, "My focus is on staying healthy and giving my hundred percent in the upcoming competitions." He acknowledged that sometimes the body responds differently, underscoring his decision not to overexert himself.
