Malaysia reached the semifinals while the journey of Sat-Chi came to an end.
Paris Olympics 2024, Satwik and Chirag crash out of the quarterfinals: Indian badminton stars Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty aka Sat-Chi on Thursday lost the match against Malaysia's Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik in the quarterfinal of the Badminton's Men's Doubles at the Paris Olympics 2024.
Notably, India kicked off the match with complete dominance as they won the first set of the match by 21-13, wherein the Sat-Chi duo seemed to be in complete control of the game.
However, the tables turned when the Malaysian shuttlers picked up the pace and started dominating the Indian lads. Unfortunately, Satwik and Chirag Shetty were unable to control their nerves as they gave up their lead initially in the second set and lost the set by 14-21.
After this, the last set was the decider as Satwik and Chirag were to beat Malaysia's team to enter the semifinals of the event.
The last set was a tough one as both India and Malaysia showed tough competition besides a neck-to-neck competition. It was unfortunate that India lost to Malaysia in the third and final set by 16-21.
Thus, Malaysia reached the semifinals while the journey of Sat-Chi came to an end.
