Sikh separatist leader escapes alleged assassination attempt in California

California Latest News: In a shocking incident, a Sikh separatist leader was allegedly attacked on a California highway, earlier this month. His organization has described the shooting as an alleged assassination attempt.

According to information, Satinder Pal Singh Raju, was traveling on the Interstate 505 near Sacramento on 11 August when the truck, he was travelling in, was “sprayed with bullets”. Reportedly, he survived the shooting.

Satinder Pal Singh Raju is also said to be an associate of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Canadian Sikh separatist leader who was assassinated in Vancouver in 2023.

Back then, the Canadian government has said there were “credible allegations” that “agents of the Indian government” were behind Nijjar’s death.

As per The Guardian, the California highway patrol confirmed that a shooting took place after 11.30pm on 11 August in Yolo county. The agency is currently investigating the matter and no arrests have been made yet.
