Tragic Demise in Philippines

Tragic Demise in Philippines: In a heart-wrenching incident, a Punjabi youth hailing from the city of San Pablo in the Philippines, Ranjit Rana, met a tragic end as he was fatally shot near the town of Chao earlier today. The 33-year-old, son of Resham Singh and nephew of Joga Singh Dole, president of Aartiya Association and Rotary Club Lohian, succumbed to gunshot wounds, leaving his family in shock and grief.

At approximately 9 o'clock this morning, as Ranjit Rana reached the store in Chao, where he was employed, two assailants approached him from behind and opened fire. The sudden and brutal attack resulted in the young man being struck in the back, with the bullets piercing through his chest. Despite efforts to save him, Ranjit succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Ranjit Rana's family has been residing in San Pablo, Philippines, for an extended period. The deceased had recently returned to Lohian for a vacation, departing for Manila just two days before Diwali. The trip was a brief respite before the eagerly anticipated event of his life, his wedding, scheduled for February 2024. The engagement ceremony had taken place in Vishwaspur village near Kartarpur.
