ACCRA: At least eight people were killed in a head-on collision between a minibus and a truck in southern Ghana, an official confirmed. The Eastern Regional Division Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Jennifer Naa Yarley Quaye, said the accident occurred on Saturday on the Kopong-Tema highway in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region.
Quaye said that six people died on the spot in the accident and two seriously injured were taken to Aquez Government Hospital, where they later died. Eyewitnesses said that the minibus collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
