ABU DHABI: Number plate has been used to identify the vehicle. Number plates are issued to vehicles under the RTO office in India, for which a few rupees are charged but have you heard that a number plate sells for crores? Yes, you heard it right. The World's Most Expensive Number Plate have been sold in United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The auction of the most noble numbers was held in Dubai, in which many license plates were sold for millions. P7 number plate has been sold for the highest price in this auction. Its price is so high that even a flat worth billions of rupees can be bought in posh areas of Mumbai.
During the auction in Dubai, the number plate P7 sold for a record 55 million dirhams or about Rs 1,22,61,44,700.
Bidding started at 15 million dirhams at the auction on Saturday night. Within seconds, the bid exceeded 30 million dirhams. However, the bid was stopped for a while after it went to 35 million dirhams. After that the bid reached 55 million dirhams and it was placed by a person from Panel Seven, who stipulated that the bid be kept confidential.
