New Aid Package includes funding for Petrout missiles, Hawk air defense systems

Military Aid

WASHINGTON: The Pentagon on Friday announced an additional $2.1 billion in long-term arms assistance to Ukraine. The new aid package includes funding for Petrout missiles, Hawk air defense systems and missiles, and the small Puma drone. There have been indications that Ukraine is about to launch a much-anticipated retaliatory operation in an attempt to regain control of its territory occupied by Russia.

In a statement, the Pentagon said that the package reflects the US' continued commitment to strengthening the Ukrainian Armed Forces' ability to defend Ukraine's territory and resist Russian aggression over a long period of time. The aid also includes marine supplies for the laser-guided missile, an unknown number of artillery shells, and funding for training and maintenance support. It is worth mentioning here that after Russia's attack on Ukraine in February 2022, America has given $37.6 billion to Kiev.
