Pakistan Elections 2024: Internet Shutdown in Pakistan as Voting Begins

Pakistan Elections 2024 Voting, Internet Shutdown News: The voting for General Elections 2024 in Pakistan begins amid the chaos in the country. The situation has led to the internet shutdown in Pakistan.

General elections in Pakistan are being held in Pakistan on Thursday. In view of the elections, the internet services have been suspended across Pakistan. As per the report, the Interior Ministry has cited the need to "maintain law and order" behind suspending mobile internet services (Pakistan Mobile Services Suspended).

"It has been decided to temporarily suspend mobile services across the country," the ministry's spokesperson said in a statement. Referring to the incidents of violence on Wednesday, the spokesperson added that after the loss of "precious lives" in the attacks, security measures are being maintained to deal with the law and order situation.

In the meanwhile, it has been reported that the journalists of the news agency AFP were also not able to use the mobile internet services in the capital Islamabad, as and when the voting started on Thursday.

It is pertinent to mention that around 28 people were killed and more than 40 were injured in two bomb blasts targeting election offices in Pakistan's Balochistan province. It has been reported that the ISIS has taken responsibility for these attacks.
