Sri Lanka has uncovered a large network of Chinese nationals who were involved in online fraud. In the first such action by Colombo, Beijing was accused of defrauding millions.

According to media reports, more than 30 Chinese nationals involved in online fraud were arrested last month and are now in Sri Lankan jails. This operation was conducted by the Sri Lankan authorities on the basis of Interpol Alter.

According to the information, these arrests were made from the western province of Sri Lanka. It is being reported that the accused had reached Sri Lanka on a tourist visa after defrauding people for more than two months. A laptop and some mobile phones have also been recovered from their possession. The matter is being investigated and it will be heard in the court next month.
