Ukraine is all "ready to sign" a minerals agreement with United States latest news: Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukranian President has stated that Ukraine is all "ready to sign" a minerals agreement with United States, and he described it as the first step towards security guarantee.
On his X post, he reiterated the necessity for more than a ceasefire, adding, "A ceasefire without security guarantees is dangerous for Ukraine. We've been fighting for 3 years, and Ukrainian people need to know that America is on our side".
This was after a confrontational meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House saw Zelenskyy cut his visit to Washington short.
In spite of the tension, global leaders have been equally supportive of Zelenskyy and pledged to do more to assist Ukraine.
Zelenskyy had met earlier in the day with Britain's King Charles III at Sandringham House. He thanked his gratitude in an X post, saying, "I am grateful to His Majesty King Charles III for the audience".
He also had a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to formulate an action plan together for bringing an end to the war through a just and lasting peace. Zelenskyy has labelled the encounter "productive" and put an emphasis on holding cohesion united in favour of Ukraine while deepening Ukraine's standing under concerted action from its European and American partners.
Zelenskyy emphasized that nobody except Putin wants the war to continue and that Ukraine requires peace supported by strong security guarantees. He thanked Italy for its ongoing support and cooperation in making peace closer to Ukraine.
