Bangladesh Unrest: A student representative of the Minority Rights Movement in Dhaka, Bangladesh, dismissed allegations against a Hindu man, Dipu Chandra Das, who was lynched by an unruly mob over alleged blasphemy, claiming that personal disputes with colleagues led to the incident.

Sushmita Kar, the student representative, while speaking to news agency ANI, said, “On the 18th of December 2025, a man named Dipu Chandra das was brutally killed in the name of mob justice. But he was innocent.”

“We got this information that he had some issues with his colleagues, and they had used these words, like defamation of religion, or insult of religion. They used these words to kill the person,” she added.
