Bangladesh Mob Lynching: Chaos Erupts Amid Protests Following Sharif Osman Hadi's Death

Bangladesh Mob Lynching: A mob lynching in Bangladesh has led to the death of a young man who was later set on fire by the mob, amid widespread anti-India protests in Bangladesh on Thursday, according to reports.

In visuals shared by India today, the large mob could be seen lynching the victim, allegedly over blasphemy.

The person is identified as Dipu Chandra Das, 30, who reportedly died on the spot during the lynching. The incident happened after widespread protests broke out in Bangladesh after the death of Sharif Osman Hadi, a prominent leader of the July Uprising.

The interim government led by Muhammad Yunus has strongly condemned the lynching of the Hindu man.

“We express deep condemnation over the incident in Mymensingh in which a Hindu man was beaten to death. There is no place for such violence in the new Bangladesh. No one involved in this brutal crime will be spared,” the administration said in a statement.

The administration said it “strongly and unequivocally condemned the violence, intimidation, arson, and destruction of life and property.”
