Who is Mohammad Raza accused of intending to establish a Forced Sharia system? Check: The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), acting on intelligence, arrested the alleged mastermind of the gang that formed the Mujahideen Army, accused of intending to establish a Sharia system.
According to news agency ANI, Mohammad Raza, originally from Andoli, Fatehpur district, UP, and currently residing in Mallapuram, Kerala, was arrested by the UP ATS on September 29, 2025. He is the mastermind of the gang that formed the Mujahideen Army and aimed to establish the Sharia system.
Akmal Raza, Safeel Salmani alias Ali Razvi, Mohd Tausif, and Qasim Ali, who allegedly comprised the gang, were also arrested and sent to judicial custody.
The UP ATS claimed, citing intelligence, that some individuals in Uttar Pradesh were influenced by ‘radical Pakistani organizations.’
The UP ATS stated, "The Anti-Terrorism Squad of Uttar Pradesh received intelligence that some individuals from various districts of Uttar Pradesh, influenced by radical Pakistani organizations, were planning to overthrow the democratically elected government in India through violent jihad and impose Sharia law by force. These individuals were planning targeted killings of certain non-Muslim religious leaders."
“The leader of this group and the mastermind of the entire criminal and anti-national conspiracy is being brought to Lucknow on transit remand under legal procedure. The accused will be presented before the relevant Special Court in Lucknow as per the rules," it added.
