“They think that the country is theirs”: Jamiat Ulama-I-Hind President reacts to ban proposal on non-Hindus' entry in Uttarakhand temples

Jamiat Ulama-I-Hind President Arshad Madani, on Monday, reacted to the call for a complete ban on the entry of non-Hindus in 48 temples in Uttarakhand.

Arshad Madani, speaking to ANI, said, “They think that the country is theirs, and they can lead the public in any direction, but the times have changed.”

“It is good that the people live with love and brotherhood and Jamiat Ulama-I-Hind teaches this only...” he added.

The remarks come in response to a proposal announced by Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) Chairman Hemant Dwivedi, who stated that Kedarnath Dham and Badrinath Dham are not tourist destinations but supreme spiritual centres of Sanatan traditions.

He said a proposal would be brought in the upcoming board meeting to ban the entry of individuals who do not have faith in Sanatan Dharma across all 48 temples under the BKTC, including the Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines.
