“On my last cylinder today”: Lucknow tea seller turns to ‘chulha' amid LPG shortage
He said he was operating on his last cylinder today and would start using the ‘bhatti' from tomorrow.
As reports of LPG cylinder shortages emerge from several states amid global energy supply disruptions caused by the West Asia conflict, a tea seller in Lucknow is getting a ‘chulha’ installed at his shop to ensure his earnings do not suffer.
Shivpal, the tea seller who usually uses LPG, told news agency ANI, “I am getting a coal furnace made here so that my business continues to operate.”
He said he was operating on his last cylinder today and would start using the ‘bhatti’ from tomorrow.
The crisis has hit small eateries the hardest, followed by hotels and restaurants. Around 20 percent of hotels in Mumbai have already shut down, and there are fears that up to 50 percent may close in the coming days if the situation does not improve, according to hotel associations.
