Drugs row: Another cop arrested by STF
SAS Nagar: In a major breakthrough, the Special Task Force has nabbed another cop who is the accomplice of arrested Inspector Inderjit Singh in the drugs case. According to the sources, Assistant Sub-Inspector Ajaib Singh, who was arrested from Kapurthala, was Inderjit’s right hand and both had worked together in various operations.

Women quota increased in Panchayati Raj and Urbal local bodies
Chandigarh, June 13: The Punjab Cabinet has given nod for an increase in the women reservation in Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies from 33 per cent to 50 per cent. A decision to this effect was taken by the Council of Minister in a meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh here at Punjab Bhawan this afternoon.

Punjab govt to form a uniform system to inspect unaided institutes
Chandigarh: Punjab government has directed all the Technical Education Institutes to declare the seats in each course before the commencement of the academic session. Charanjit Singh Channi, Punjab Technical Education Minister disclosed this in a meeting with Joint Action Committee (JAC) comprising 13 different associations representing over 1000 Unaided Colleges of Punjab that met him to discuss various issues related to technical education.

Israel invites Punjab CM for cooperation in various fields
Chandigarh: Israeli envoy to India Daniel Carmon has invited Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to visit his country in September to take forward their discussion on cooperation across a wide range of subjects, including defence, agriculture, horticulture and water conservation.
Female cop suicide case: Munshi arrested
Raikot: The police arrested munshi Nirbhay Singh in the suicide case of Constable Amanpreet Kaur whose body was found hanging from a ceiling fan at police station. Nirbhay had been booked under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the IPC on Saturday.
