Vigilance Bureau nabbed an ASI and a constable while accepting bribe

The Vigilance Bureau nabbed an ASI and a constable red-handed while accepting a bribe in two cases, an official press release said.

ASI Satnam Singh was nabbed for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from complainant Joginder Kaur. She had approached the VB alleging that the accused ASI was demanding Rs 25,000 after threatening to include her name in a narcotics-related case that was already registered.

The VB laid a trap and caught the ASI accepting Rs 10,000 in the presence of two official witnesses. 

In another case, the VB team nabbed a constable, Sukhdev Singh on the complaint of Kishan Singh. The complainant has informed the VB that the accused constable was demanding Rs 60,000 to get his name excluded from a case of drug haul.

The constable was caught for accepting Rs 2,000 during a trap laid by the VB.
