Moga: Four friends were killed after a car, they were travelling in, had a head-on collision with a truck at Kot Isse Khan town of Moga on Sunday late night.
The deceased have been identified as Sagardeep Khurana (32), Gurpreet Singh (30), Bhupinder Singh (22) and Jagmeet Singh (22), all resident of Kot Isse Khan.
The incident took place when they were on their way to Dharamkot in Sagardeep’s Swift Desire car, going to drop one of their friends at around 11.30pm in the night.
Jasvir Singh, station house officer (SHO) Kot Isse Khan said that the car bearing registration number PB 29 X 7786 was going towards Dharamkot and the truck (PB 05 L 9927) loaded with wheat, was on way to Kot Isse Khan when both the vehicles had a head-on collision.
“The impact of the collision so strong that all four died on the spot,” he said.
He said that the driver managed to flee from the spot leaving the truck behind.
Police have handed over the bodies to the family members after conducting the post-mortem.
