Chandigarh: Two
Weeks Training Workshop on “Research Methodology in Social Sciences for
Research Scholars/Faculty Members ” organized by the ICSSR
North-Western Regional Centre commenced on Monday
at the ICSSR Complex, Panjab University(PU), Chandigarh. The research
scholars pursuing research from various research institutes located in
the State of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir
& Union Territory of Chandigarh in various social science
disciplines are participating in the training programme.
Professor Sanjay Kaushik, Honorary Director, ICSSR North-Western Regional Centre welcomed the participants and appraised them about the various activities of the Regional Centre. He also highlighted the utility of such training programs in order to conduct research in an effective manner. He wished that the research scholars would be equipped with many techniques after attending the Programme to pursue their research in the right direction.

Special Guests of Honour in the Programme. They motivated the participants to pursue Ph.D honestly.
Dr
Taranjit Rao, Assistant Professor, S.G.G.S. College, Sector-26,
Chandigarh, Course Coordinator of the Programme stated that such
training programmes are the need of the Hour in the present era of
Information Technology. She also highlighted the utility of such
training workshop in order to update the knowledge and skills of the
social science faculty to become competent and effective teachers. Dr PK Saini, Deputy Director, ICSSR NWRC appraised the participants about the benefits of such training programme.
