LAMBI GRANT DISBURSAL PROBE OFFICER WILL TAKE ON NEW POST AFTER INQUIRY COMPLETION
ADC (Development) Kulwant Singh will take up his new posting as ADC (General) in Pathankot only after completing the probe into the alleged discrepancies in the disbursal of Rs. 40 crore for house repairs in former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s Lambi constituency.
This was clarified on Friday by Raveen Thukral, Media Advisor to the Chief Minister, in response to reports in a section of the media stating that Kulwant Singh’s transfer orders had been issued at a time when the inquiry was nearing completion.
CM GIVES NOD TO TIME-BOUND INTEGRATED AGRO-HORTI-FORESTRY PROGRAMME TO BOOST FARM INCOME
To boost crop diversification and motivate farmers to shift towards horticulture, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday gave the go-ahead for integrated horti-forestry models for planting clonal-eucalyptus and poplar plants along with sweet oranges.
Chairing a meeting with top officials of the Horticulture Department here at Punjab Bhawan the Chief Minister asked the Additional Chief Secretary (Horticulture) Himmat Singh to bring a formal proposal in this regard, which would be implemented in letter and spirit.
The Chief Minister directed the ACS (Horticulture) to make this programme time-bound so that the entire schedule of plantation based on the inter-cropping models is implemented in right earnest to promote horticulture in a big way.
RTS COMMISSION HELPS ITI STUDENTS IN GETTING CERTIFICATES
The Punjab Right to Service Commission took suo-moto notice for non-delivery of NTC certificates and DMCs to students who passed out in the year 2014-16 batch. after the directions issued by RTS commission the students got the certificates.
Disclosing this here today Right to Service Commissioners Mr. Jagdeep Singh Cheema and Mr. Maninder Singh Patti said that during the course of hearing before Mr. Pankaj Kumar Mahajan, RTS Commissioner, it was observed that there was a backlog of more than 15,000 certificates in the cases, and some cases, certificates were not issued to those students who have passed their exams during the period 1998 onwards.
They further said that the Commission took initiative and got 64 Certificate of different trades were collected and distributed by holding mobile Court at the College Campus at PK Govt ITI Gurdaspur in June 2017.
Punjab gets India`s 1st Technology & Innovation Support Centre
The World Intellectual Property Organization of United Nations has set up its 1st Technology & Innovation Support Centre (TISC) of India in Punjab State Council for Science & Technology through Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce & Industry Government of India. Dr. Roshan Sunkaria, as Principal Secretary to Govt. of Punjab, Department of Science, Technology & Environment and Shri Rajiv Aggarwal, Joint Secretary to Govt. of India, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce & Industry signed a formal agreement on July 13, 2017 at Udhyog Bhawan, New Delhi to mark the initiation of this Centre.
CAPT AMARINDER GOVT OKAYS LAND ALLOTMENT FOR CENTRALLY-FUNDED HORTICULTURE INSTITUTE
The Captain Amarinder led Punjab Government gave in-principle approval for allotment of about 10 acres of land in village Dhaulkalan in District Amritsar to set up the centrally-sponsored Post Graduate Institute of Excellence in Horticulture.
This was disclosed by an official spokesperson after a meeting of the Horticulture Department, chaired by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, to identify and finalise the land for the proposed institute, which had been announced by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. The land that has been identified is ideally located in an area between Guru Nanak Dev University and the Ram Tirath, the Horticulture Department informed the meeting.
