Our power is in our own hands: Varnika Kundu

The young role model for the girls, Varnika Kundu had hit the headlines when Haryana BJP president’s son Vikas Barala stalked her. The brave girl Varnika Kundu has set an extra ordinary example in front of the country for his courage.

Talking to Rozana Spokesman’s Managing Editor, Nimrat Kaur, Varnika Kundu revealed that she is a feminist. She believed that feminism means equal rights not for only women but equal rights for all.

She told that the parents should tell their girls that they are not weak and they should send their girls for the self defense training. Kundu holds black belt in Martial arts and that helped her to combat with the situation when Vikas Barala stalked her. The martial arts training gave her confidence and that’s why she tackled the situation wisely instead of making any mistake.

Kundu’s parents supported her always and that’s why she stood up against the top politician’s son. When asked her that she belongs to Haryana and people are reluctant to allow their girls to pursue their passion, she said, “My entire family didn’t bother about the people. Our family never thought that what people think.”

In fact, her father was the first one who brought her a music system when she was eight year old. She said, “My dad helped me to pursue my passion. He was always supportive and he didn’t object when I told him about the passion for DJ.” She credited her success to her family members.

Varnika listen music of John Lenon and other international singers. Even she knows about the Latin American Marxist icon Ernesto Che Guevera but she has a neutral approach towards all.
