Moga: With three more incidents of braid-cutting being reported in the state, the police continued to remain clueless about such cases.  A 55-year-old woman hailing from Mandheke village in Moga has alleged that her hair was chopped off on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.

Angrej Kaur’s husband Gurmel Singh said when she woke up on Sunday, she found her hair chopped off. She fainted and was admitted to a local hospital.  Gurmail told the police the gate of his house was locked on Saturday night, but it was found opened in the morning. Initially, the police suspected that her husband had cut her hair. Nihalsinghwala police station SHO Ravinder Singh said investigations were in progress.

Another incident was reported in the town where a woman, residing in New Vijay Nagar, claimed that her braid had been chopped off on Saturday night. Ram Prtavesh, a native of Samastipur district in Bihar, said his wife Janaki Devi found her hair chopped off when she woke up in the morning.

Later, she became unconscious and her family members took her to a “godman” suspecting her to be in the grip of some “evil spirit”. But when her condition deteriorated, she was admitted  to the local Civil Hospital. Doctors said she was anaemic.
