On September 26, 2016, the police received a wireless message that one revolver was found from a car in Sector 42. A constable had claimed that he saw a Swift car in which he found a black revolver in a pouch with five live cartridges.

When confronted, the accused revealed his name to be Lal Singh. He neither gave any satisfactory reason for carrying the said weapon nor he could produce any permit or license for the same. The revolver was a 32MK III Field Gun Kanpur.

An FIR was registered against him and the court held him guilty under Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act.
