Langah surrenders before Gurdaspur court

Gurdaspur: Former Akali minister Sucha Singh Langah, who had been on the run after a rape case was registered against him, today surrendered before the district court here.

Punjab Police had been conducting raids to trace him. "He (Langah) surrendered today in the district court here," Gurdaspur SSP Harcharan Singh Bhullar said.

Langah was booked by the police on the night of September 28 after a woman gave a complaint that the Akali leader had allegedly been raping her repeatedly since 2009. Police had booked Langah under Sections 376 (rape), 384 (extortion), 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
