Raping and sexually exploiting ‘sadhvis’ in the premises of Dera Sacha Sauda, Sirsa. Two women alleged that the ?dera? head Gurmeet Ram Rahim raped them many a time.
How the case reached to CBI?
The Punjab and Haryana High Court received an anonymous complaint against the dera head in 2002 and asked the Sirsa Sessions Judge to inquire the matter. Later, the HC handed over the case ?to the? CBI on September 2002 and the agency registered FIR in December 2002 against Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. The CBI took a long time to locate the victims.?
2006: CBI recorded the statements of 18 ‘sadhiv’ who used to live at Dera. Two of them revealed that the Dera chief raped them during their stay at the headquarters in Sirsa.
July 30, 2007: CBI presented challan in the court.
2008: CBI court framed charges against Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.
2014: CBI recorded the statement of dera chief.
