If your wife delivers a baby in a hospital especially in Haryana state, you would have to give tip to the nurse otherwise you will have to suffer. Asking for the tip is a common practice in Haryana hospitals. It's a routine practice in the government hospitals.


An incident happened at Sonepat Civil hospital exposed the nexus of the nurses who ask for the tip from the family members of the lady who delivered a baby boy or baby girl.

NURSE KEPT A NEWBORN GIRL AWAY FROM HER MOTHER FOR TWO HOURS

 A staff nurse at Sonepat Civil Hospital kept a newborn girl away from her mother for two hours when she was denied the congratulatory tip.

Seema Devi, a nurse working at hospital asked the mother Sangeeta Singh for the tip and when she refused to give tip to Seeme, the nurse refused to hand over the baby to mother and kept the new born girl away from Sangeeta.

High drama prevailed in the hospital and later, the principal medical officer conducted an internal inquiry and recommended her transfer to a remote village.

It is illegal but asking for the tip is a common practice in the state hospitals. The tip ranges from Rs 300 for a girl child and Rs 3000 for a new born boy. The senior medicals officers received number of complaints against the nurses but didn’t take action due to the lack of evidence. When somebody shows reluctance to paying the tip, the nurses started behaving in a rude manner.
