Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has left for UK from the
Indira Gandhi International Airport on Thursday afternoon. He has been accompanied by his personal staff.
Some MLAs had also left for UK separately.
Captain has not given the charge of Chief Minister to anyone but according to the rules
a Senior Minister has the authority to take charge in the absence of the
CM. In such circumstances, senior minister Brahm Mohindra will be in
power.
This is the first private visit of Captain Amarinder Singh after
becoming CM. He is on eight days London tour and will return to India on
September 15. During this visit, he will release books related to the
Battle of Saragarhi.
After the death threats received by Amarinder Singh from the abroad, the Government of India has discussed this issue with the UK’s
authority.
Only after getting clearance from the UK government, Captain Amarinder has left for this tour. Many of his beloved ones
were on the airport to bid him farewell.
