Capt. Amarinder greets people on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti

Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh has extended his greetings to the people of Punjab on the auspicious occasion of Valmiki Jayanti.

In a message, the Chief Minister hailed Bhagwan Valmiki Ji as the “Pitaamah” of Sanskrit language and the world’s first poet, or the Adi Kavi, who with his immortal and masterpiece composition - the “Ramayana” - had propagated the message of the victory of good over evil.

The great epic scripted by Bhagwan Valmiki had been teaching humanity the true and ethical way of living for centuries, said the Chief Minister. He said that the teachings of Lord Valmiki promoted the ideals of equality.

Amarinder Singh underlines the attributes of an ideal man and an ideal ruler and said that people should follow the creation of an ideal state or society. The Chief Minister urged the people to celebrate this sacred occasion in a spirit of amity and brotherhood.

He also said that people should follow the path and high ideals shown by Bhagwan Valmiki in order to carve out an egalitarian society.
