Akal Takht Jathedar excommunicates rape accused SAD leader Sucha Singh Langah

Akal Takhat Jathedar (High Priest) Giani Gurbachan Singh today excommunicated the defamed formed Punjab Minister and senior SAD leader Sucha Singh Langah from Sikh Panth for bringing disgrace to the entire Sikh community by forcing a woman for sexual favour and lowring the prestige of religious body of which he was the member. Langah was member of Dharam Parchar Committee of Shiromani Gurdawara Parbhandak Committee(SGPC). 

The decision to excommincate Langah was taken in a meeting of five Sikh high priests held at Akal Takht here today. Langah was arrested by Gurdaspur Police on October 4 in a case of rape, intimiation and cheating registered against him in Gurdaspur city Police station. He is on five day police remand. 

A case under Sections 376 (rape), 384 (extortion), 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC. Follwing his sex video went viral on social media, his parent party Shiromani Akali Dal expelled him. He was also asked to submit resignation from SGPC, which was accepted immediately by SGPC president Kirpal Singh Badungar.
