Chandigarh: State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against rampant corruption today nabbed an Assistant Food and Supplies officer (AFSO) and a Food Inspector posted at tehsil Khamano, district Fatehgarh Sahib red handed for accepting bribe of Rs. 4000/-.
Disclosing this here today a spokesman of Vigilance Bureau Punjab said AFSO Balraj Singh and Food Inspector Mukesh Kumar Shukla posted at Khamano in district Fatehgarh Sahib were caught red handed while they were demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 4000 from depot holder Davinder Singh a complainant of Saidpura, tehsil Khamano district Fatehgarh Sahib.
Giving details he said the complainant approached the VB and alleged that the above named accused were demanding bribe of Rs. 4000 for issuing the wheat quota for the beneficiaries.
After verifying his complaint the VB team laid a trap and both the accused were caught red handed and tainted money was recovered from them in the presence of two official witnesses.
He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against both the accused at VB police station Patiala and further investigation was under progress.
