Spokesman News Service, Chandigarh, October 31: The Government agencies and private millers have procured 9381242 metric tonnes of Paddy in Punjab till October 30 while payment worth Rs. 12356.83 crore has been transferred to the accounts of arthias/farmers by the government. Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of the Government of Punjab informed that out of the total procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 9312208 MT of paddy while 69034 MT has been procured by the millers.
Giving the details, the spokesman said that PUNGRAIN has procured 3171128 tonnes, MARKFED 2170230 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 1907857 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation procured 925907 and 971937 MT paddy respectively. The Centre government agency FCI has procured 165149 MT paddy.
