Case Filed Against Punjab AAP MLA in Haryana: Kulwant Singh Accused of Rs 150 Crore Fraud

Kulwant Singh: In a major incident, a case has been filed against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Kulwant Singh, representing SAS Nagar in Punjab, and his company, M/s Janata Land Promoters Private Limited (JLPPL), at the DLF Phase-2 police station in Gurugram, Haryana. The complaint, lodged by MGF Builder, alleges fraud involving Rs 150 crore.
The dispute traces back to a 2018 agreement between MGF Builder and JLPPL. According to MGF, Kulwant Singh and his company breached the agreement’s terms, resulting in the alleged fraud. The court has ordered that the case be formally registered.
Outstanding Payment Exceeds Rs 156 Crore
The two companies had initiated a project on over 100 acres of land in Mohali, Punjab, and signed an agreement in 2018. Under the agreement, MLA Kulwant Singh and JLPPL were obligated to pay Rs 180 crore to MGF. However, it is claimed that they have failed to pay more than Rs 156 crore to date. The Economic Offenses Wing is currently investigating the matter.
Accusations of Deceptive Intentions and Financial Losses
The complaint alleges that Kulwant Singh and JLPPL’s actions were designed to unlawfully acquire the complainant’s property by disregarding the agreement's stipulations dated October 31, 2018. Furthermore, the complainant asserts that the fraudulent actions have led to a financial loss exceeding Rs 500 crore.
