Punjab School Winter Vacation Holidays Extend News: Amid dense fog and dropping mercury levels in Punjab, the students have been eager to know if their holidays, as per winter vacation, are going to be extended or not.
As of now, Punjab has been witnessing cold waves through the region. Due to this, the winter vacation was announced in Punjab schools. As per the earlier order, a mandatory winter break was declared in all schools across the state, closing their doors from December 24 to December 31.
The decision to declare holidays was taken in view of the growing cold wave that enveloped Punjab, with temperatures hitting notable lows in recent days. The move aimed to safeguard students from the harsh weather conditions and provide a respite from the chilly temperatures.
Starting from December 24, all the educational institutions, including schools, remained closed for the week. As per the earlier order, the normal school activities are set to resume on January 1. However, a lot of people wondered if the winter vacation holidays in Punjab schools would be extended or not as the state has been witnessing dense fog during the early morning and evening hours.
Not only this but also the state has been witnessing cold waves as well. It is also pertinent to mention that the winter vacation holidays often get extended year to year based on the prevailing situation.

As per sources, a decision regarding the schools would likely be taken on Sunday while the notification for the same is also likely to be released on December 31.
Meanwhile, several rumours were making rounds on social media that the vacations have been extended till January 9. However, it turned out to be fake as there has been no official confirmation regarding the same.
