Punjab Weather Update: Heavy Rain in Punjab

Punjab Weather Update: A shift in weather patterns has brought about a significant change in Punjab's atmospheric mood, with heavy rain, thunder, and lightning impacting various regions since the early hours of the morning. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for several districts across the state.

The Meteorological Department's latest update identifies several areas in Punjab that are experiencing intense weather conditions. Places such as Sangrur, Dhuri, Malerkotla, Patiala, and others are currently witnessing thunderstorms, lightning, and moderate to heavy rainfall. The alert extends to numerous cities and towns, urging residents to exercise caution.

The Rain, which commenced around 3 am, has led to waterlogging in various locations, affecting roadways. Additionally, the temperature has witnessed a notable drop of approximately 3 degrees Celsius. Cold winds accompanying the rain are expected to persist throughout the day. This weather transformation is attributed to the influence of a Western Disturbance, offering a potential respite from prevalent pollution concerns.

As the rain continues, the Meteorological Department anticipates a subsequent clearing of the weather. However, this is likely to be accompanied by a decline in minimum daytime temperatures, signifying cooler nights ahead. Cities across Punjab may experience a minimum temperature drop of around 2 degrees, contrasting with the current average of approximately 10 degrees Celsius.
