Punjab Police Catches Fake Police: Four Arrested, Two Still at Large; Uniforms Recovered Latest News: In a case of impersonation, fraudsters posing as police officers were extorting money from people by intimidating them with fake police authority. This incident came to light in the Ajitwal police station, Moga district. The police have registered a case against six individuals and arrested four of them on the spot.
Providing details, SP (D) Bal Krishan Singla stated that based on a tip-off, the police took action and arrested four individuals identified as Ravi Singh, Chand Singh, Gurwinder Singh, and Dhira Singh.
He further shared that the two accused, Darshan Singh and Satnam Singh, both from Moga district, are still absconding.
Darshan Singh, the main mastermind, has a criminal record with prior cases under the Arms Act and NDPS Act. Separate teams have been formed to raid and apprehend the absconding accused.
SP Singla added that the arrested individuals will be presented in court to obtain remand for further investigation. He also appealed to the public to come forward with any information regarding extortion by these individuals so that strict action can be taken against the accused.
