MOHALI: Amid the controversy over his alleged support to Khalistan and separatists, a post about singer Shubh is going viral with the claim that Shubh has recently been featured on New York's Times Square billboard.

Facebook user "Maninder Singh" shared the viral picture on September 25, 2023 and wrote, "Dude On Top.. Charche Ch Naam Jivein Ae Trend Ni Vairy Rakhe Karke Godeh Te Bend Ni"

Spokesman in its investigation has found the viral post to be misleading. This viral picture is not recent but from October 2022 and has no links with recent events.

While starting the investigation, we first looked the viral graphic carefully. We found that the graphic had "kiddaan.com" written on it.

Keeping this information in mind, we did a keyword search and found an article about this photo on the site kiddaan.com which was published on October 1, 2022. "kiddaan.com" publishes Pollywood and Bollywood news.

According to the published article, singer Shubh's song 'Ballor' was featured on the Times Square billboard of New York after its release.

During our investigation, we found that this picture is also present in Singer Shubh's Instagram highlights. This picture was shared by the singer on October 1, 2022.

Hence, it is clear that the viral picture is not recent.
