Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab accuses Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh for lying about Enforcement Directorate (ED) cases. He had publicly said that the Aam Aadmi Party was spreading propaganda against him that ED cases were pending against his family. AAP had also demanded an apology from the Chief Minister to all the people of Punjab, for lying in this matter.

In a statement issued from the party headquarters, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Punjab Legislative Assembly Harpal Singh Cheema, said it was strange that Captain Amarinder Singh, being the Chief Minister of the state was blatantly lying to the people that no case was pending against his family with the ED.

Cheema said that even before this the Captain had become a false benefactor of the farmers and claimed to take up their issues with the central government, but later he himself admitted that in his meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, no issue related to the farmers was raised.

“This confirms the AAP’s claim that Captain Amarinder Singh only went to meet Amit Shah to talk about his family’s ED cases. Captain has sold the people of Punjab to the duo of Amit Shah and PM Narendra Modi under a settlement to avoid the ED cases. The Captain-led state government is doing what the Modi government at the centre was saying,” said Cheema.

He further said that during the SAD-BJP government, when Sukhbir Badal was the Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, people used to call him a ‘Ggappi’ and now Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was also following his footsteps.

Regarding the black flags displayed by the farmers to Sukhbir Badal recently, Cheema said the people were well aware that Akali Dal was as much responsible for these black laws as BJP and Congress. He said that people of Punjab were aware that Captain had gone against the people by supporting the black laws in the High Power Committee and Harsimrat Kaur Badal of SAD had signed these laws while being a member of the Cabinet.

“That is why people are showing them their true place. The farmers of Punjab are now fighting for their existence and it is justifiable to protest democratically. SAD, which had formed governments in Punjab in the name of farmers and religion, has now fallen out of the public eye,” he added.
