Punjab Govt Maintains Zero-Tolerance Toward Corruption and Negligence; Suspends Junior Engineer in Bhawanigarh

Reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy toward corruption and negligence, the Punjab Government has suspended Junior Engineer Hargobind Singh, posted at Nagar Council, Bhawanigarh, according to an official release.

The action was taken on the directions of Local Government Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh, following the detection of irregularities in a road construction project. The suspension order was issued by Director, Local Government Department, Kulwant Singh.

As per the release, Junior Engineer Hargobind Singh has been suspended with immediate effect after irregularities were found during the inspection of the road from Labh Singh to Joginder Nagar and Sangatsar.

During the suspension period, the officer will remain attached to the office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Sangrur, and a chargesheet will be issued subsequently, the order stated.

Emphasizing the government’s firm stance, Dr. Ravjot Singh reiterated that the state government maintains a zero-tolerance approach toward corruption, negligence, and poor quality in public works. He added that strict departmental action will continue against any official found guilty of compromising standards or public trust.
