The entire North India region is currently enveloped in dense fog, causing a sharp drop in temperatures and affecting daily life across the states.

Meteorologists predict the activation of a Western Disturbance starting December 31, the last day of the year. This disturbance is expected to bring rain to various locations in Punjab and Haryana, accompanied by cloud cover. The impact of this weather system is projected to extend into January 2. Additionally, North-West and Central India may experience rainfall during this period.

Today, Punjab witnessed a thick blanket of fog, and the alert for dense fog is expected to persist in the coming days. The weather is anticipated to be clear on December 29, with light to moderate rain forecasted for many districts of Punjab on December 30 and 31.
