DERABASSI: Notorious Gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria found himself in the spotlight as he was securely presented before the Derabassi court on Wednesday evening by the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) staff from Kharar. Following a tightly monitored court appearance, Bhagwanpuria was remanded to police custody for a six-day period.

Bhagwanpuria faces allegations of supplying weapons to Anil Kumar, who was apprehended in a police encounter in Zirakpur last month. The Arrest of Anil Kumar transpired on August 29 during a police encounter on the 200 feet road in Zirakpur, where he sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. In connection to this incident, the police filed FIR No. 250 under IPC 307, 353, and 186, along with charges under the Arms Act at Zirakpur police station.

CIA's in-charge, Shiv Kumar, disclosed that Jaggu Bhagwanpuria was brought in on transit remand from Kurukshetra for interrogation regarding the Gharuan shooting incident. Bhagwanpuria is suspected of facilitating the transfer of arms consignment from Amritpal, an individual based in America, to those involved in the shooting. Concurrently, investigations into the encounter involving Anil Kumar unveiled that the weapons were allegedly supplied to him by Bhagwanpuria's associates. Consequently, during his court appearance in Derabassi, he was remanded in police custody until October 3 to aid further investigations into the matter.
