GD Anderson once rightly said, “Feminism isn’t about making women strong. Women are already strong. It’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength.”

Today in India, women face severe problems such as mal-nutrition, lack of education facilities, corporal punishment and the list is endless. The worse affected however is the girl-child who sometimes does not even get the opportunity to be born, said Shivankur Gulati.

He continued, "I truly believe our country needs more individuals like Manisha Gulati and organizations like Punjab State Women Commission, who have been constantly working for the betterment of the plight of women’s around the globe."

It is the duty of each human being on earth so each citizen of this country had to lend a hand in making tomorrow better for the sake of our women, the future of this country.

It is only when we raise the girl child and give them the opportunity to learn and grow and then only we will be able to achieve a brighter future for humankind.

In the words of the father of our nation, “Be the change you want to see”. I urge every citizen of the country to par take in giving back to the society and if each person performs the duty of being a part of a civil society, India will once again be known as the golden bird, he said.
