Farmers Protest 2024 leads to major crisis of diesel and LPG Cylinder gas in Punjab

Farmers Protest 2024, Diesel and LPG Cylinder Gas Crisis in Punjab: In a major piece of news, the Ministry sources on Wednesday revealed that there is a major crisis of diesel and cylinder gas going on in Punjab due to the ongoing farmers' protest at Shambhu and Khanauri border points.

According to information, the supplies of diesel and LPG cylinder gas in Punjab are badly hit due to roadblocks and safety issues.

It is pertinent to mention that the farmers have been protesting against the Central Government over their demands that include a legal assurance on the Minimum Support Price (MSP), loan waiver, and a pension scheme for farmers besides justice for the victims of Lakhimpur Kheri violence.

The farmers started their 'Delhi Chalo' march on February 13 and have been camping at the Shambhu and Khanauri border points because the Haryana Government had blocked the roads with heavy barricading and even deployed heavy police force.

As of now, six farmers have died during the ongoing agitation while one more farmer died in a road accident. The Punjab Government recently announced a financial compensation of Rs 1 crore and a government job to the family of Shubkaran Singh who recently died during the clash with Haryana Police. He reportedly succumbed to a bullet injury.
