Punjab Weather Update Latest News Today, Dense Fog Alert in Chandigarh, No Rain Forecast: Residents of Punjab and Chandigarh are set to experience dense fog during the mornings and evenings for the next three days, as the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for foggy conditions until November 29. However, there is no forecast for rain during this period.

In the past 24 hours, the maximum temperatures in Punjab and Chandigarh have dropped slightly, with Punjab experiencing a decrease of 0.1 degrees Celsius and Chandigarh seeing a reduction of 0.2 degrees Celsius. The temperatures in Punjab are now nearing normal levels, with Bathinda recording the highest maximum temperature at 29 degrees Celsius.

In Chandigarh, the maximum temperature was recorded at 25.7 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, nighttime temperatures are rapidly dropping across the region. In Punjab, Faridkot recorded the lowest nighttime temperature at 8.0 degrees Celsius, followed by Bathinda and Gurdaspur at 9 degrees Celsius. Chandigarh recorded a nighttime temperature of 10.7 degrees Celsius.

Air Quality Concerns Persist

While air quality in Chandigarh has shown signs of improvement, it remains worse than in many parts of Punjab. Despite a decline in stubble burning cases, the Air Quality Index (AQI) levels are still concerning.

As of 5 AM, Chandigarh’s AQI stood at:

  • Sector-53 (near Mohali): AQI 210
  • Sector-22: AQI 117
  • Sector-25: AQI 149

In Punjab, AQI levels in various cities were as follows:

  • Amritsar: 170
  • Bathinda: 84
  • Jalandhar: 154
  • Khanna: 105
  • Ludhiana: 208
  • Mandi Gobindgarh: 150
  • Patiala: 190

Here’s a city-wise breakdown of temperatures and weather conditions:

  • Chandigarh:
    Maximum temperature recorded at 26.7°C on Tuesday. Fog is expected in the morning, with temperatures ranging between 11°C and 26°C.

  • Amritsar:
    Maximum temperature recorded at 25.8°C. Moderate fog is predicted today, with temperatures expected to range between 9°C and 27°C.

  • Jalandhar:
    Tuesday evening’s maximum temperature was 25.9°C. Dense fog is forecasted, with temperatures likely to range between 9°C and 24°C.

  • Patiala:
    The maximum temperature on Tuesday reached 27.2°C. Dense fog is anticipated today, with temperatures between 10°C and 25°C.

  • Mohali:
    The maximum temperature recorded on Tuesday was 26.1°C. Light fog is expected, and temperatures may range between 10°C and 28°C.
