Punjab Weather Update: Rise in Cold and Rain Predicted Across the Region
Meteorological Shift Brings Clouds and Possible Rainfall, Prompting Cautionary Measures in Punjab and Chandigarh.
Punjab Weather Update Latest News: In a noteworthy weather shift, Punjab and Chandigarh experienced a change in climate on Monday, with many areas enveloped in clouds. The Meteorological Department predicts rainfall in certain locations on Monday, potentially leading to a dip of two to three degrees in night temperatures.
Manmohan Singh, Director of the Chandigarh Center of the Meteorological Department, issued a cautionary advisory, urging people to exercise caution, especially during morning commutes. The weather is expected to revert to dry conditions from Tuesday onwards.
On Sunday, a noticeable drop of 0.6 degrees was observed in the day temperature across Punjab. Pathankot recorded the highest temperature at 26.4 degrees, while Gurdaspur experienced the lowest temperature at 10 degrees.
Meteorological experts suggest that the Air Quality Index (AQI) could witness improvement following the anticipated rainfall, as it aids in clearing fine dust particles from the air. Despite a recent decrease in stubble burning cases, Punjab's atmosphere remains polluted, with AQI levels in most cities falling in the poor category.
